Canonmates

~~Shinjiro Aragaki~~ (♥)

Shinjiro is Akihiko's best friend from early childhood. The two grew up in the same orphanage together along with Akihiko's sister, Miki, who later died in a fire that consumed the building. Later, as 9th graders, Akihiko was recruited by Mitsuru Kirijo as a Persona-user to combat the Dark Hour, and Shinjiro --another Persona-user who was less capable of controlling his Persona-- forced himself into the group as well. Shinjiro would later leave the group when his Persona accidentally killed Ken Amada's mother, and Akihiko and Shinjiro's relationship became strained.

Akihiko repeatedly approached his old friend to rejoin the group to help mount a full assault on the Dark Hour. Shinjiro agreed after he learned Ken himself had joined the group. Not long after, however, Shinjiro was killed by a rival group of Persona-users, and Akihiko blamed himself for not being there to save him.

Shinjiro arrived shortly after Akihiko in Amat. The two share an apartment.

Minato Arisato (♥)

Minato Arisato is in the year behind Akihiko at Gekkoukan High School. In truth the human vessel of the Major Arcana Shadow of Death, he took over as leader of S.E.E.S. when Akihiko --the present leader-- was hospitalized with injuries. After Akihiko's recovery, Minato was asked to remain as leader of the group.

Throughout the game, Akihiko provided Minato with tactical advice and encouraged both him and the other second year, Junpei, to continue to try hard and balance their day lives with physical training in Tartarus. Akihiko was profoundly affected by Minato's disappearance, which he believed constituted yet another "failure" to save someone-- something he swore he'd never do again.

In Nuadoria, Minato arrived after Shinjiro and helped compound Akihiko's anxieties about his dead friends. However, Akihiko hasn't interacted very much with Minato except to ask if he's keeping up with his training. (Er, I'm not sure if the character's still around either, actually.)

	~~Yosuke Hanamura~~ (♥)
	Played by: Red Yosuke became a Persona-user two years after the show-down in Iwatodai, and canonly never met Akihiko, although he did visit Akihiko's former high school on a school trip. In Nuadoria, Akihiko met Yosuke and Naoto when he overheard them talking about Persona. The three agreed to team up. They worked together to defeat the mirror wraith.

	Played by: Debs Naoto is a freshman at Yosuke's school, and like Yosuke, never canonly met Akihiko, although they visited Gekkoukan High School, two years after Akihiko had graduated there. In Nuadoria, Akihiko met Yosuke and Naoto when he overheard them talking about Persona. The three agreed to team up. They worked together to defeat the mirror wraith.

Gamma was the first person to welcome Akihiko to Nuadoria. Basically, the one who told Aki where he was.

He later invited Akihiko to a dinner acknowledging his participation in defeating the mirror wraith.

Akihiko has a bit of an appreciation for him as another electric-type. Due to the age difference he tends to defer to Gamma for, if not wisdom, then at least input.

	Played by: She was the first one to identify his stag as his familiar.

	Trish (♥)
	Played by: lonesheep // Sheep She explained familiars to him in greater detail. They've interacted a few times. He's a little wary of her and can't really figure her out, but she doesn't seem menacing.

	Sir Crocodile (♥)
	Played by: Tony He's not really interacted with him and he doesn't really know who he is. But Akihiko thinks he's a pretty cool guy, eh, likes justice and doesn't afraid of anything.

	Uni (♥)
	Played by: recevoir She's a very sweet little girl and he's not sure Gamma is enough of a guardian for her. But it's probably something he just doesn't know enough about.

Angeal Hewley (♥)

Played by: lonesheep // Sheep

~~OLD MAN~~. Akihiko hasn't socialized much with him; theirs is almost purely a working relationship. Akihiko met him during the mirrors event and Angeal ended up assisting the Persona-users and Caim and Erielle in defeating the mirror wraith.

After also joining Caim and Akihiko in the Necropolis, Akihiko now firmly thinks of Angeal as someone reliable and handy in battle. He still doesn't know anything about him personally, though.

Ginny Weasley (♥)

Played by: Stella

R-red hair... *_*

Okay, so Akihiko doesn't entirely know if he trusts Ginny yet but she seems on the level and it's cool to be interacting with someone around his own age who, like him, has seen more dark shit than she cares for. If he's stretching he might consider her like a less-fail version of Yukari.

He's only been successful in talking to her because he doesn't think of her as a girl, just as a warrior. As long as she doesn't act Too Female around him (she's not a squealing Japanese teenager so that's not likely) he won't clam up and start blushing.

	Played by: celes_grant // Celes He's a little forcefully cheerful at times, but he's good conversation, and seems intent to make this city work for him instead of the other way around. Aki can appreciate that.

Caim (♥)

Akihiko met Caim when he announced on the network that he, Yosuke and Naoto had been able to fight the mirror wraith using their Personae. Caim then organized the Persona-users and a couple others into a fighting party to trounce it.

Later, Akihiko joined Caim on an expedition to the Necropolis.

All in all, he finds Caim the most approachable of the Magisters and the one most likely to be doing good for Nuadoria. It helps that Caim actually seems to listen to him when he makes suggestions.

Prince Fallon (♥)

Played by: hane // Hane

Akihiko met Fallon around the same time as Caim. Fallon seemed far more concerned about the fightin' party's safety. Akihiko likes people being concerned about him in small doses but too much chafes, and that's the problem Fallon runs into with him time and time again.

He was Akihiko's guest to Gamma's party following the defeat of the mirror wraith. It was not a date. Shut up.

	Played by: laboratory // Fal Oh, Fallon warned Akihiko about him. B( And Akihiko might've thought Fallon was exaggerating, but then Dai immediately started to ask Akihiko if he was all right and if he needed some comfort. Even guys have a Rapedar, you know.

[The video weaves, its captured image a blur before Akihiko finally comes to a stop and frames it on himself. He is streaming sweat, panting, blood spidering from a few small cuts on his face. Glass shards. Things got a little explosive.

Behind him, the two Persona-using kouhai (Yosuke and Naoto) are catching up, both more frazzled than injured. But they're heading through the first open doorway they find.]

--Think we lost it--

[He gulps another breath, looking over his shoulder.]

There's no mistake-- that was a Persona. And...

[Akihiko looks fairly well-groomed for wandering the city for two days, which means he must have found food and some sort of temporary shelter. For the moment, however, he looks a little tired and foxed around the edges.

He's sitting down near the remains of a wall, which is likely how his communicator fell off his belt and is providing us with our current awkward dutch angle from ground level. Across from him we find milling a moderately-sized red stag, which seems to have found something to chew.

Akihiko stares the stare known only to very calm, self-possessed teenagers who are used to strange things happening but nevertheless are quite at a loss for why a deer has recently taken to following them around.]

...So what are you supposed to be, huh?

What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Akihiko is usually very calm and reserved, even if something annoys him. Just never, ever disparage his friends. Or get him onto a challenge you can't follow through on.
Abilities: Akihiko is bonded with a Persona, Caesar, capable of lightning-based attacks, support skills, and healing. As mentioned before, he uses his fists to fight, being a champion boxer.
Notes for the Psychics/Aura Readers: Personae tend to emerge from individuals with a strong will and focus, and Akihiko is no exception. Even among his teammates, he is seen as especially driven, almost to the point of having blinders on. So, he can be a little difficult to suppress. On the other hand, at the point I'm taking him from, he is beginning to regress emotionally and feel longing for the challenges and thrill of battle, which in turn becomes a huge mental weakness that can be exploited.

-Akihiko is one of the more meta characters of Persona 3 and has actually been called out for treating things like they were part of a game (hurr). Because he arrived in Nuadoria straight from entering the Abyss of Time the first time, he thinks this is part of the dungeon, and believes that if he can just take care of obstacles here (ie, defeat the boss, because Akihiko thinks in these terms,) it will lead the way back to his friends.
