Title: This list gathers films from countries shaped by shared histories of colonialism, war and civil unrest. For consistency I've chosen the UN classification as an umbrella. The UN internal branch of UNCTAD has defined the countries mentioned as being in the process of industrialising and recovery from external and internal crisis. As in socioeconomics, instability and political struggles, meaning that they are in a state of development. Yet they are distinct in culture and resilience. The term refers to nations in Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania and Asia (excluding Japan, SK, Taiwan, Aotearoa/NZ, "Israel", Australia, etc.) In whole, it is an anti-colonial term.
