Skeletor saved this film. Visually it was everything I wanted it to be. But at times, when they were obviously, desperately trying to be Guardians of the Galaxy, the humor was extremely forced and didn't land well at all. BUT!!!! Jared Leto's Skeletor was fantastic and had me enthralled every moment he was on screen.

I was expecting something as bad as Things, but this actually had effort put into it with a Tales From The Crypt anthology structure, lots of different monsters, gore, etc. An absolute gem for those that like DIY horror. One star removed though for lack of nudity. Can't have everything I suppose.

Look, I know most people on here hate this, but I have a soft spot for it. I realize that 2 of the reasons for that are the most prominently featured assets of the film, but whatever. I like the character arc, I like the monster, I like the gore, I like the parrot, I like the locale. So sue me. It scratches the itch that I have for whatever reason when I need it.

What I assumed was going to be a dime a dozen by the numbers slasher flick ended up being quite a surprise. Very competently shot, with likeable characters, great gore, and very very lovely ladies that don't mind getting naked in order to fulfill all the things a slasher flick needs. also near the ends a couple nice homages to Friday The 13th films. Felt like I was watching an 80's era flick, which is exactly what this sub-genre should feel like. It's currently on Netflix streaming in glorious HD in case you don't feel like picking up the bluray.
