Hispanic/Latino Lives at the Oscars

These are the Oscar nominated films depict the lives of Hispanic/Latino characters. Only films with one or more major Hispanic/Latino characters/subjects are taken into consideration. Whether the Hispanic/Latino performers were nominated for Oscars, or even whether they were actually Hispanic/Latino, whether the director or writers were Hispanic/Latino, whether the film is a good representation of Hispanic/Latino lives, none of that is taken into consideration. Only if Hispanic/Latino characters have a major impact on the film.

In fact, it is important to note that many of these are very bad representations of Hispanic/Latino. Films such as In Old Arizona and Maestro are included here because the characters in universe are Hispanic/Latino, but the actual performers were white, making them prominent examples…
