The Academy Award for Best Assistant Director, introduced in 1935 at the 7th Academy Awards and discontinued after the 10th Academy Awards, was presented annually for the best achievement in assistant film directing in a film from the previous year.
At the 6th Academy Awards, certificates of merits were given to seven individuals but these are not considered official wins as they were not associated with any specific film.
Sorted Chronologically by Awards Year. Winners in BOLD. Acceptance speech linked in Notes (where available).
