Academy Award for Best Production Design

The Academy Award for Best Production Design, introduced at the awards debut in 1929, is presented annually for the best achievement in interior design in a film from the previous year.

The Academy expanded the eligibility criteria for the award in 1947, extending recognition beyond art directors to encompass set decorators as well.
