At long last, a movie where a cgi monkey pounds cocaine, gets jerked off, and hangs with Oasis

It's me, The Guy Who Does Not Like Music Biopics here to report that this contains every music biopic cliche I hate and yet somehow it works. I will be yelling about this movie to anyone within earshot for the next year but the most important things about it to me personally

1. Liam and Noel Gallagher are characters in the movie
2. Robbie Williams with his skin ripped off from the Rock DJ video appears but in monkey form and then takes part in a massive violent battle scene at Knebworth with thousands of monkey Robbies
3. it actually has some of the most transcendent musical sequences I've seen in years (turns out Michael Gracey does indeed have the juice)

Should not work but is batshit and honest enough to avoid the sickening pastiness of dull biopics like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Long in the tooth and overstimulating but entertaining all the way through. Would be curious what non-brits take from it…

A little too standard music biopic-y once you look past the pretty creative monkey business, but the saving grace is how it locks the fuck in during the musical sequences. Let Michael Gracey direct a film adaptation of Pippin or something god damn
