Best International Feature Winners

All Academy Award winners for Best International Feature Film. The notes contain the country of origin and director of each film.

Between 1948 and 1956, the Academy presented Special Awards to the best foreign language films released in the United States. These were not competitive, since there were no nominees but simply one winning film per year.

For the 29th Academy Awards (1957), a competitive Academy Award, known as the Best Foreign Language Film, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since then. Since the 92nd Academy Awards (2020), the award is called Best International Feature.
