Something I particularly appreciated about this film was the unromantic depiction of poverty and social ascension in a society where inequality between the richest and poorest continues to grow.
This is the second movie I've watched with 井柏然 and the first where I've seen him fully flesh out his acting talents. I'm definitely looking forward to his and Rene Liu's future work.
