Ever been porked? Or had a man smoke your pole?

The part near the end when Pacino can do the gay lingo fluently, just casually dropping a “hips or lips?” like it’s nothing, that’s his superhero moment. It gives me the same feeling as when Neo starts doing kung fu with one arm behind his back in The Matrix.

Friedkin’s depiction of S&M/cruising came across as totally non-judgemental to me on this rewatch, he makes it all look fun and flirty and cool. All the killings are so deeply heartbreaking because they’re a betrayal! And that’s the secret sauce with this movie: it’s really, really sad.

Now we really know what Tommy Wiseau was thinking about when he wrote "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!"
