So that's what the Jack Links sasquatch was doing pre-fame. Old high schoolers and hunters led by Miles O'Keeffe converge in forest rumored to be sight of a massacre by a grizzly. After several mutilations of the weekend warriors, they discover a Bigfoot thoughtful in its victim selection. Assuming here but a warm television sheen might speak to this always intended for the tube. Glimpses of aftermath gore and a topless shot could've easily been omitted for Syfy. Don't recall anyone even slipping in mild curse words. Originally Bigfoot: The Unknown Territory, anyone expecting Clawed to live up to its retitle will be disappointed. Watched via First Look's DVD.
Off top: the lead actor in this (Dylan Purcell apparently) reminds me both in appearance and in voice of James Lorinz from Frankenhooker. Anybody else get that vibe?
I have such a soft spot for films like this. They are made in a spirit of "let's put on a show," budget/resources be damned. And while they may not be successful in every respect, often feature canned and formulaic characters/situations, and sometimes can be politically problematic, they are pure at heart without a shred of malice or cynicism. It's all for the love of Bigfoot, my friends.

Passable Squatch flick with an obviously low budget that manages to entertain in spite of itself. I found a list of the 47 best Bigfoot movies, and this one doesn’t even make the cut, which seems unfair since that list features not one but two(!) David DeCoteau movies, both of which are about shirtless himbos facing Bigfoot.
I found this roughly as entertaining as Abominable (2006), the #1 movie on that list. There are plenty of reasons why it’s technically not as good, but the advantage to having your “big-name” actor be Miles O’Keeffe instead of Lance Henriksen is that low-budget filmmakers can afford to pay Miles O’Keeffe for multiple days of shooting, which means the portion of this film…

Imagine, if you will, a Sasquatch movie with an indigenous Sasquatch and a brown bear. And the bear gets more on-screen time than the Sasquatch😵💫.

Maybe I liked this movie more because the mayor is played by the voice actor who plays the citizens/rebels in Half Life 2 and all I could think about was Half Life 2… man I love Half Life 2 I should go play Half Life 2
I’ve watched so many of these dog-shit Bigfoot movies that they generally all bleed together into one d-tier slop broth, but I’m petty sure this is the one where Sasquatch just disappears like a ghost at the end. Probably would have just been cheaper to have the dude walk out of frame but whatever. Everyone’s got bigger problems to deal with than thinking about this.
This is terrible. So fucking boring. You wait forever for the sasquatch to show up and it’s a rough slog of nothing characters to get to that, and it is not worth it. Why is it so hard to make a decent Bigfoot movie? It seems like such an easy premise for trashy fun; just have the creature kill people and maybe be horny. This is 90% people talking and walking through the woods, 5% sasquatch POV shots, and 5% guy in a Bigfoot costume standing around.

As Reb Brown did with the godawful NIGHT CLAWS,Miles O'Keeffe(TARZAN THE APE MAN[1981],ATOR THE FIGHTING EAGLE) made his last film-to-date with a Bigfoot film with this mediocre effort that mixed two separate storylines together as O'Keeffe leads a group of rifle wielding redneck poachers(with Cooper Huckabee[THE FUNHOUSE{1981},DJANGO UNCHAINED] and Michael Bailey Smith[THE HILLS HAVE EYES{2006},BLACK MASK 2] amongst the fellow poachers) through the local remote wilderness in pursuit of the title Sasquatch beast that slayed and torn apart his friends at the same time a quartet of college students(Dylan Purcell[PARASOMNIA],Brandon Henschel[BRING IT ON,13 GOING ON 30],Chelsea Hobbs[THE NINE LIVES OF CHRISTMAS,JUNE IN JANUARY],Casey LaBow[TWILIGHT:BREAKING DAWN;PART 2,SKATELAND]) spend their time on an outdoor weekend vacation,with both parties soon to eventually collide…

I liked the story quite a bit, but the Bigfoot in this movie was terrible. Seriously? Slow motion "six million dollar man" style running footage? And whoever was playing the Bigfoot...at least try to make it look like an animal, not a track runner in a cheap monkey suit.
Is it too much to ask that a Bigfoot movie has both a good storyline AND a decent costume?
All the stars are for the story...not the suit.
