it's so refreshing to finally see a well-produced docuseries about a muslim empire that isn't from a western orientalist lens but brought forth by the very descendants of this empire. also very important to note that all the actors are very hot

Just finished watching season 2: Mehmed vs Vlad.

Honestly, I loved it! I think this might be the first time I've actually seen a depiction of Vlad that actually focused on the historical figure and not all the vampire stories associated with the name, which was quite refreshing and the actor playing Vlad was charismatic as hell.

Çok merak ediyorum; filmde konuşan bilim insanlarının filmin içeriğinden haberleri var mıydı? Yahu şehzadeyi kırbaçlatmışlar 😂 bu kadar muazzam bir konudan biraz gerçeklik sunmak ne kadar zor olabilirdi..? film 2. Mehmed’in İstanbul’u nasıl fethettiği değil de, Cenevizli komutanın nasıl savunduğu ile alakalı.. 2. Mehmet penceresinden sunulan gerçeklik vasat bile değilken, Ceneviz komutanının penceresinden sunulanın gerçekliği de şüpheli zaten... niye objektif bir gerçekliğin yeterince ilgi çekmeyeceğini düşündünüz ki anlamak mümkün değil... 🤷🏼

belgesel çekelim derken sanki birazcık içine sıçmışsınız… ilk sezonda fatih sultan mehmed istanbulu resmen şans eseri almış gibi gösterken ikinci sezonda neredeyse vladi bildiğin yaptığı onca ucubeliğe rağmen haklı konumuna çıkarmaya çalışmışsınız. yabancılar mümkünse osmanlı içeriği falan çekmesin. bu arada cem yiğit üzümoğlu fsmyi oynayan en iyi kişidir.

def cool to see a decently historically accurate portrayal of the Ottoman Empire that’s not super western-biased and paternalistic. also just interesting to see the military  strategies in detail. imagine if these guys had therapy though
