I'm not gatekeeping queer coding *or* film noir, except I'm limiting films to the classic era (1941-1955ish). Don't yell at me because The Ghost Ship doesn't have a femme fatale or a detective or enough nihilism.
Credits: I'm indebted to Christa Faust's list of Eddie Muller's Film Noir's Gayest Couples; Richard Dyer's article Homosexuality in Film Noir; and "Chapter 3 - Queers and Dykes in the Dark" from The Last Drive In which provides detailed commentary and visuals.
Suggestions definitely welcomed!
