Hooptober turns 10. Congratulations, Cinemonster, for a decade of jumping through hoops to get these wonderful lists to us. October wouldn't be the same without you.
Let's get started. Despite being fans of the challenge for some time, this is only our second Hooptober. Ever since our first—and very successful—go at it, all we've done is wait in anticipation for the next one. So, we are beyond excited to get right into it. Like last year, I will be taking part in this challenge alongside my partner, Djamilla. Hooptober has quickly become a Halloween tradition for us, and we hope it continues for years to…

Hooptober has quickly become a Halloween tradition for us, and we hope it continues for years to come.
I have logged fewer films this year than in any other year I've been on Letterboxd, so I really needed something to inspire me. I am very excited to take part and be a part of one of the biggest community challenges on the platform. A lot has happened in the past year; I've been writing like nobody's business, and I directed my first—kind of legitimate—short film, which is the reason behind my lack of interactions or reviews in recent months. So, I am excited to finally take a breather and watch some great films.
Due to our hectic schedules and the fact that we like to complete the challenge together, we're planning to begin on Sept 15th. However, it's likely we may run late into November, as October is a busy month for us both, with exams and all (Oi Oi Oi).
The goal is to watch 31 films, plus the 3 films for extra credit (depending on how well we do), and to review them all—I promise, I will.
Good luck to everybody participating!
And a huge thanks to Cinemonster and Slappy McGee for the creation of this year's challenge!
