It's that time of year again! I've been itching to get this list together for months, so waiting for the new rules to be released is agonising. But here we are, Hooptober X! Or rather my 4th year doing these in conjunction with my normal Halloween watching.
This years rules have been a bit trickier in some places, mainly as I've been working my way through my 1,940 long horror film collection in date order, and so I've already seen everything in it up to 1974 - so I've had to find new movies pre-70s that I've not seen, to add to my collection and hit the rules.

It's only going to get harder as I completely run out of films for certain actors like Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
I've not completely run out of Tobe Hooper films just yet, but for this years Hooptober, I decided I'd watch his two entries to the 'Masters of Horror', as well as the other 24 (approx) hour long movies from other horror maestros. I've been meaning to watch these for so damn long, so now's the perfect opportunity.
Two franchises I'm focusing on completing this year is Wishmaster and Leprechaun - two movies series I've also had on my watch radar for many many years.
On top of all of this, plus the many random films, I've got boat load of animated films (20) as I'm trying to clear my whole animated movie collection before the end of the year, 6 documentaries, and 1 musical.
At the time of creating this (27/08/2023) my list is up to 93 entries, and no doubt this will expand further when RedLetterMedia's Jay Bauman releases his 2023 Halloween picks.

***FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: WATCH The Zodiac Killer and 10 Rillington Place. Like last year, there is a third film: Shaky Shivers:
Managed to grab the first two, but as with last year, the 3rd (Shaky Shivers) is proving difficult to get hold of. Yes it's on Screambox (which they're partnering with again), but that's only available to people in USA & Canada. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth to international Hooptober fans. Like last year, I'll keep trying to track it down (the pennywise doc was the issue last year) right up to the final day, but if I can't, then I'll just substitute it with something else.
