Hello everyone, welcome to March 2023's Scavenger Hunt! I am so excited to be hosting! This month I will be focusing on a mix of holiday themed, personal themed, and a general variety of films to keep things interesting! I am so grateful for these hunts as a way to expand my knowledge of film, and give me a template of what to choose when I am feeling lost.

Now for the prompts!
1. Let's get started with a few things about myself! I attend the University of Washington. Watch a movie filmed here or a film that takes place in Seattle.
2. Sidenote, I love James Bond movies, and although Roger Moore is my favorite, today is Daniel Craig's birthday. Watch a James bond movie or a Daniel Craig movie.
3. One of my majors is political science and I also love crime thrillers. Watch a politics themed movie especially if it is about an investigation.
4. I am also majoring in Latin and I adore classics. Watch a movie set in Ancient Rome or Greece.
5. I grew up in Los Angeles. Watch a movie that takes place there! Bonus points if it does not have to do with Hollywood.
6. On the other hand, I grew up in Hollywood, and my dad wrote Journey to the Center of the Earth. Watch it, or if you have already seen it, watch a similar movie or a movie starring Brendan Fraser. #Brennaissance
7. Today is Purim! which is sometimes also known as Jewish Halloween. Watch a movie that won an Oscar for best costume design.
8. Country music is my absolute favorite genre to listen to. Watch a movie about country music or featuring it in its soundtrack.
9. March is Disability Awareness Month, and as someone who has volunteered countless hours playing sports with those with special needs, this month is extremely important. Watch a movie where the lead has a disability.
10. It is almost Oscar season! the next few prompts will be Oscar's themed. First, let's honor those who have shown their talents and entertained us for so many years. Watch a movie starring someone to have earned an EGOT.
11. Awards season is all about disagreement! Time to see all of your hot takes. Watch a movie you consider overrated, and hey, maybe this time it will change your mind!
12. The Oscars are tonight and I hope everyone has an enjoyable time watching (and I think it is all actually being broadcast this year). In honor of them, watch a movie nominated for an Oscar this year.
13. Sadly, this was the last day of high school for so many people in 2020. Let's change that to a happier note. Watch a happy movie that takes place in high school.
14. It's Pi Day! I remember in elementary school we would all celebrate by eating pie and having a contest to recite as many numbers of pi as we could. In honor of that, watch either a movie that contains/is about pie, or watch a movie about mathematics.
15. One of my favorite things about letterboxd is finding hidden gems of movies that I would never have heard of anywhere else. Watch a movie that has under 50k watched, the lower the better!
16. I think we have all heard the tragic news about Bruce Willis being diagnosed with dementia. Let's honor his legacy, and watch one of his films.
17. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Either watch a movie about getting very intoxicated/drunk, watch a movie set in Ireland, or watch a movie about leprechauns!
18. I think going to theaters nowadays gets a bad rap, and I personally love going out. Go to a movie theater to watch a movie IRL, or watch a movie released in 2023 (If neither is possible for you, a 2022 release is fine).
19. Guilty pleasures are sorely hated on within the film community it seems. Time to change that! Watch a movie that everyone else seems to hate that you love.
20. The letterboxd top 250 actually contains some hidden gems, as well as the obvious all time greats. Either way, I have not seen nearly enough of them. Watch a film on the letterboxd top 250.
21. 3...2...1...liftoff!! (see what I did there). Watch a film that takes place in space/another planet.
22. My favorite action film of all time is Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, and this franchise continues to show that sequels can always be better than the original. Watch a sequel or following movie in a franchise other than the original that is in fact better.
23. Lebron is the best player to ever wear the number 23. Watch a basketball movie.
24. One last actor prompt: I am a huge fan of the DDCU, the David Dastmalchian Cinematic Universe. In honor of him, watch a movie that he is in.
25. Two great directors share the last name Anderson: Paul Thomas Anderson, and Wes Anderson. Watch a film from either one of them.
26. Studio Ghibli movies are so cute and wholesome and always are there to cheer my mood up. Watch a Studio Ghibli film.
27. Apparently, today is National Joe Day. Watch a movie starring a person named Joe, or where a character is named Joe.
28. La La Land being added to Netflix reminded me of my trips each year to see my grandparents in New York, and the broadway shows we see. Watch a musical that was also on Broadway, or an adaptation of one.
29. I think everyone enjoys a good whodunnit movie. Watch one!
30. It's opening day! Additionally, baseball movies are my favorite genre and i was raised on films such as Little Big League, the Bad News Bears, Major League, and many more. Watch a baseball film that came out before the year 2000.
31. We've made it to the end of the month! I think it's time for some rest and relaxation. Watch a comfort film!
If you absolutely cannot think of anything to watch, then watch a baseball movie or a movie from this list of crime movies.
