There's a scene in Laurence Olivier's screen adaptation of the William Shakespeare play Richard III where the power-hungry Richard's allies are going through the theatrics of publicly entreating him to become king while he's in the middle of giving a speech, with him then saying no and pretending like this isn't what he's wanted all along, and then his…

"The rock'n'roll spirit is not survival. Of course the people who play rock'n'roll should survive. But the essence of the rock'n'roll spirit to me, is that it's better to burn out really bright than to sort of decay off into infinity. A stylistic mish-mash of 70's underground animation---brought to us via a collaboration of disparate directors---that somehow doesn't get spoiled by too many cooks and instead gels into a nice little cartoon history of class struggle (points off though for once again giving our titular German a thick Russian accent). It's a fun primer I kinda wish were ten times longer, and also that it had been as accessible back in the day as Schoolhouse Rock. Imagine all the people, watchin' this in class.

You people giving The Room half a star and being like "how could a movie possibly be any worse?" You haven't even begun to gaze into the abyss.

I like my bad movies looking like they were found in a box that was home to a family of possums living under a leaky sink at a drive-in that's been closed for 40 years.

I like my bad movies to have a musical score that sounds like a cheap bootleg of…

I know this David Lynch short was filmed as part of a series by different directors to celebrate the tenth anniversary of France's Le Figaro Magazine, but I really want to pretend this was a TV pilot for what would have been one of the weirdest shows ever. It's a funny commentary on stereotypes with a language barrier that makes you feel like you're only in on half the joke (but that in its way is the whole joke).

Coming…
