While I recognize that the movie Clueless is an adaptation of Jane Austen's "Emma", at least that movie makes it crystal clear what work they are adapting from. THIS movie lifts a lot of scenes, plot points, and aesthetics from "Clueless" in the following ways and I have never heard the movie or Amy Heckerling or costume designer Mona May ever given any credit. "Clueless" was released in 1995, this movie in 2001.

Incredibly weird movie. Pretends to be pro woman and then has a woman’s vagina opening displayed in the movie several times. I wish that I was joking. Betty Gilpin's character feels like a misogynistic fantasy mouthpiece for anti-maternity leave propaganda. Who are these women who insist on working through pregnancy, water breaking, labour, birth, and postpartum? Is this supposed to be funny, when American women only get 6 weeks of maternity leave? I'm in Canada and I think my coworkers…
I really liked it.
And I felt GUILTY for that. I know that public perception was not kind to this movie. And that public perception is not kind to Gwyneth Paltrow.

Horrible movie. Please don't bother. This is like if "American Psycho" had a budget of $200.

- Shits on every wedding dress the protagonist tries on and likes.
- Tells the protagonist to blindly trust her fiancé after he withholds her own money from her.
With friends like that, who needs killers?
