This is a list of every movie that has won an Ariel Award and either been nominated for or won an Oscar. It's rare for foreign films to be nominated at the Oscars, except for European films on occasion. But this is to recognize the films that have managed it. The Ariel Awards are essentially the Mexican equivalent of the Oscars. Mexican and Latin cinema have been recognized a few times in recent years at the Oscars.

No film has ever won the top prize at both the Ariel Awards and the Oscars. The film to come the closest was Roma which won the Ariel for Best Picture and was considered a major frontrunner for the Oscar for Best Picture but ultimately lost.
