This is the first year I've done HoopTober, let's see how it goes...
I cannot even begin to tell you how much easier this would have been had I allowed myself to use rewatches. I DID have to include one; I don't have access to any Tobe Hooper movies I've never seen, but Lifeforce for some reason never got logged on LB, so I'm taking the tehcnicality.
Edits made 24Oct to replace a few, one for monetary reasons, one because the only working DVD player I have in the house won't rip Blu-rays, and two because THANKS FOR PULLING THEM FROM STREAMING, STREAMING SERVICES (why tf do I still pay for Hulu honestly). Since I'm taking this as a penalty,…

Since I'm taking this as a penalty, I'm adding two movies for each one I had to remove. [Swear to Olaf I've seen Premutos before but I have no record of doing so]
THE QUALIFIERS:
Six countries: US, UK, Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan (note: these qualifying lists are not necessarily exhaustive)
Eight decades: 1920s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2010s, 2020s
Two insect-centered films: The Deadly Bees, Attack of the Giant Leeches (yeah, I know, the insect-horror lists one can find on LB seem to play rather fast and loose with the definition of "insect". I did NOT, however, stoop as low as using a spider movie.)
1 film set in space: Lifeforce
Two animated horror movies: Extraordinary Tales, Dorohedoro
One bloodthirsty old person movie: Don't Breathe
Two US films from the seventies: The Capture of Bigfoot, The Brain Machine
The worst horror sequel from the 1990s you have access to and have not seen: The Rage: Carrie 2 (the single most obvious film on this list, probably)
One German silent film: The Hands of Orlac
Five movies from [list of regional horror directors]: Night of the Strangler, The Brain Machine, The Death Curse of Tantu, The Capture of Bigfoot, The Sting of Death (bonus: it's absolutely not a hooror movie in any way but there is ZERO chance I will not be including Bill Rebane's Twister's Revenge! on this list as an extra film)
Two Christopher Lee movies: FrankenWeenie, The Whip and the Body
One movie with a real-life musician or band: The Million Eyes of Sumuru (Frankie Avalon)
One Stephen King adaptation that had been adapted at least once previously: Firestarter (2022)
One Lon Chaney film: The Penalty (1920)
One Tobe Hooper film: Lifeforce (1985)
