Time marches inexorably forward. Now it is the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, but soon the spooky season will be upon us. As we move forward towards winter, the barrier between worlds grows thinner, and the ghosts and ghouls normally kept at bay walk the frozen Earth once again. So speak your incantations, close your windows and doors (Have you seen the price of heating lately?), and light your jack-o-lantern.

I'll be firing up the ol' VHS player, not simply to bring some extra warmth but to take part once again in that most most sinister of seasonal rituals, Hooptober.
