Everybody's favorite time of year has returned: It's Hooptober season! This will be my fifth round overall, with two successful completions and two failed challenges under my belt, though it's the ninth incarnation of the challenge.

As always—for me, at least—I'm only including films I haven't seen before and any movies with asterisks are counting for multiple criteria somewhere on the list below. I would have loved to knock out the extra credit films this year, too, but it's just not going to happen this year, unfortunately.
