"I lived in a country where I couldn't live where I wanted to live. I lived in a country where I couldn't go where I wanted to eat. I lived in a country where I couldn't get a job, except for those put aside for people of my colour or caste."
"If I'm remembered for having done a few good things, and if my presence here has sparked some good energies, that's plenty."
-Sidney Poitier
Sad late addition: Anne Heche. If you know someone who is struggling or seems down, help them if that is what they need/want or just be there. Sometimes just having someone that wants to be around you means a lot.
Welcome back. I can't think of a year where I have needed horror films more than this one.
I am starting this on a different day than in years past. Today is the 5th anniversary of the passing of Tobe Hooper. Tobe meant the world to regional film, to horror cinema and to me. Moving forward each Hooptober drop will be on August 26th, in tribute.
So this is part 9. There is a chance that I may do something in a theater in Pittsburgh but I do not know, as of this writing.
Thank you to everyone who has rolled through over the years. This is much more yours than it is mine. For those that have questions (Who, Why, WTF etc...), there are answers HERE and HERE.
Thanks again to Slappy McGee for the help the last three years. Much appreciated. Small world, Slappy.
OK, here we go:
I will begin as I did the last eight(!) years: I would like to do 31 horror films in October, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment so I will start my 31 on September 15th.
I WILL REVIEW THEM ALL (I really mean that). Those of you not new to the LB block know that horror is near and dear to my heart.
-I challenge anyone to do the same and use the TAG HoopTober9 so we can read each others stuff.
-If you are going to do it, list your link to YOUR list in the comments and i will add it to the intro to help others find your list. ( Hoop-tober index is HERE, 2.O HERE, 3.O HERE, 4.O HERE, 5.O HERE, 6.O HERE, 7.O HERE, 8.O HERE)

Now let's do that voodoo that we do so well.
