Balloon has an interesting premise based on a true story that I would love to learn more about.

But with a plot full of cliches, characters who are nothing more than walking stereotypes and a score that seeks to constantly remind us that we’re watching a serious inspirational film, I was left quite bored throughout its tedium.

All in all, Balloon is just another one of those cheap movies based on a true story that relies on being a “true story” rather than giving us developed characters to care about.
