That's a quote from Hannah Ewens' book on female music fans, Fangirls. Anna Bogutskaya uses it in her essay "But Are You Really Into Horror?" to make a point about horror film fandom. Bogutskaya notes that we find our tribe not only by watching horror movies, but by sharing the experience with others. I love the way Cinemonster has created this communal experience that draws us all in and gets us all excited about each other's (often solitary) viewing experiences. It's part of a chain in which our enthusiasm for experiencing the art fulfills the art (because is a horror movie really a horror movie until a community of fans embraces…
