The Academy Award for Best Picture, introduced at the awards debut in 1929, is presented annually to a film for the best overall achievement in filmmaking from the previous year. It is widely considered as the most prestigious honor given to a production by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Until 1951, the award was presented to a representative of the production company but has since been presented to all credited producers. This rule was modified in 1999 to apply a maximum limit of three producers receiving the award.
Sorted by Awards year, Award Winner, then alphabetically by Award Nominees. Winners in BOLD. Acceptance speech(es) linked in Notes. (Where available.)
