21st Academy Awards (Oscars 1949)

Honoring the films released in 1948, the 21st Academy Awards Ceremony was held at The Academy Theater in Los Angeles on March 24, 1949. The ceremony was hosted by Robert Montgomery.

This year, the Academy Award for Best Costume Design was introduced.
