Honoring the films released in 1942, the 15th Academy Awards Ceremony was held at The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on March 4, 1943. The ceremony was hosted by Bob Hope.
This year, the Academy Award for Best Documentary was introduced, however no distinction was made between features and shorts. Four special awards were bestowed among the 25 nominees.
