The fact that every single one of the male actors just straight up said "the father is 100% innocent" is iconic.
the truly most iconiqué part is where literally everyone's going on about the ramseys or something along the lines, but then there's that one guy saying: "i love breast torture. whipping nipples, tits. doing breast bondage."
i'm very fascinated by the concept of this film and the way it was executed - it brings together such different views, hate and sympathy and sorrow all blending together.
it feels unique because rather than trying to hide bias, it is a film about bias; the lives we have lived affect how we view the lives of others and the undying speculation around jonbenet's death is part of that.
i really, really appreciate that rather than trying to solve the crime, kitty green acknowledges that it has become a myth in its own right. there are a thousand different stories about what happened that night, every one of them shaped both by the sorrow of the ramsey family and the sorrow that the person telling the story has lived through. it's fascinating to watch the different narratives intersect and diverge, and i think this is a film i'll be wondering about for quite some time.
those boys smashing the watermelons .. incredibly disturbing
also literally everyone in this is creepy
Honestly the most unsettling part of this was when the actors pair off in the auditions and the way they interact (or fail to). Seriously theater people are such fuckin weirdos.
I don't think that I've said
"what?" out loud so many
times during a film before.
PS: those last six or seven
minutes are *tremendous*
the part where the one bitch was like "there's no way a nine year old could have the strength to beat in a skull like that" and then it cuts to the boys DESTROYING those watermelons with a flashlight was honestly Iconic
my fave part of this is when one of the actors just starts showing his sex whip collection and how to use them
this is 95% just...random people telling the every intimate detail of their lives for NO reason and you know what? fucking AMAZING. someone give me the uncut interviews immediately
it's good because it's basically exploring the entire mystery through the eyes of non-experts who only have their theories from whatever news sources they may be inclined to read. a fucking fascinating study on how you put your own experiences into every situation and we all feel something wildly different.
did i hallucinate or did one guy just show up to talk about nipple torture and left??
