✅ 5. Film that puts the team together or reunites the gang: The Mighty Ducks. Light hearted fun. Not often the kid wants the coach to screw his mum. 3/5
✅ 6. Film with a John Williams' score: Catch Me If You Can. Fast paced, didn’t feel it’s running time at all. Leo and Tom played off each other well. Great score. 4/5
✅ 7. Film with a Hans Zimmer score: Something’s Gotta Give. I was fine with the film until Diane Keaton’s character starts hysterically loud sobbing for hours. Talk about over reaction. A guy you’ve known for a week and shagged once is out for a meal with someone else. He’s not killing your first born in front of you ffs. 3/5
✅ 8. Film that influenced Cass: Liar Liar. Great premise. Jim Carey may be a bit much but in parts the film is fairly funny. 3.5/5
✅ 9. Film that was nominated or won the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award: Happy Gilmore. A happy, easy watch with some laughs. 4/5
✅ 10. A director’s debut: Little Miss Sunshine. Bloody charming. 5/5
✅ 11. Film with excessive gore: The Night of the Living Dead. Was expecting it to be scary. At least I had fun yelling at the characters for being stupid. 3/5
✅ 12. Film with a plot twist: Coherence. Bit of a mind fuck. Not bad for a film with a $50k budget. 3.5/5
✅ 13. Film host has only been able to watch once: One Day. Don’t want to victim blame, but come on Anne… cycling into a road, without a helmet and not looking both ways?! Nice story with fairly decent chemistry between the main characters. 3.5/5
✅ 14. Film that takes place in my country: Operation Mincemeat. Interesting true story, but could have done with less of a focus on the weird love triangle 🥱 3/5
✅ 15. Film by a Jewish director: X-Men: Apocalypse. I do enjoy the X-Men movies. 4/5
✅ 16. Film with a famous soundtrack: Almost Famous. Great soundtrack and story. Watched the extended version which was probably overkill. The scene on the plane was particularly enjoyable. 3.5/5
✅ 17. Film where you never learn a main character's name: Once. I didn’t feel any connection to the characters. 2/5
✅ 18. Film directed by Ridley Scott: Body of Lies. Bored. 1.5/5
✅ 19. Film produced by Judd Apatow: Heavyweights. Silly and fun. 3.5/5
✅ 20. Film where they smoke weed: Friday. Not entertaining, not funny and not worth my time. 1/5
✅ 21. Film about gambling: Mollys Game. Great acting and dialogue. 4.5/5
✅ 22. Film where nature is its own character or motif: Walkabout. Great cinematography but the film did nothing for me. 2.5/5
✅ 23. A 2022 release: Morbius. That was a perfectly okay film, especially considering I do not really care for Leto generally. Intrigued by the post credit scenes. 3.5/5
✅ 24. Film where the pet doesn't die: The Boss Baby: Family Business. Not as good as the first one. 2/5
✅ 25. Film starring a disabled actor or actress: Run. The synopsis seemed so familiar I thought maybe I’d seen it before, but nope. Tense. 3.5/5
✅ 26. Film with a little person/LP who is playing a human with a speaking part and a normal name. Substituted prompt and instead chose a film from the Disabled Life In Film List: The Big Sick. Took a little while for me to get into it, definitely picked up in the second half when the parents came and it became more of a drama. I didn’t enjoy the stand-up/awkward-style comedy, but everything else was fine. 3.5/5
✅ 27. A foreign language film: [REC]. Generic zombie movie with boring characters. 2.5/5
✅ 28. A Best Documentary Feature Oscar nominee or winner: The Living Desert. “Nature gives the millipede a pungent odour to make it spider proof”. As an arachnophobe I want this ability too please. 3/5
✅ 29. Film from 1999: Office Space. Hmm yeah, that was scarily relatable okay. 4/5
✅ 30. Film that was third in its series: War For The Planet Of The Apes. The CGI is a technological marvel. Beautifully shot and very well acted. The apes manage to convey so much emotion (and many without uttering any dialogue). 5/5
