Welp! I figured these Krampus mockbuster movies would get worse instead of better and, so far, I’m right.
In this one, the Krampus is...unleashed...through something having to do with a piece of magical coal (not even kidding). There was actually some attempt at a backstory but (yawn) nobody really cares. This is directed by the same person who slapped us with Krampus: The Reckoning except it somehow manages to be worse. Instead of a CGI Krampus, we have an actual one...and by “actual”, I mean a guy in a Halloween costume. Outside of some surprisingly decent gore for a shit tier Krampus movie, he is very much leashed. Kind of does make you want to kill yourself too so that's exciting!
Krampus Unleashed (2016) is a film I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a group of treasure hunters who, while searching for gold, accidentally unearth Krampus instead. Although he remains dormant for a few years, Krampus eventually awakens and begins a violent killing spree. Can the local townspeople find a way to stop this monstrous threat?

Mercifully I haven't yet seen many of these "Krampus" films, although I've seen enough that I should know better. This begins with a prologue about some treasure and a little bit of backstory followed by the unleashing of the titular beast who then tears the prospectors limb from limb in an ultra low budget horror sort of way.
The following 30 minutes attempts to establish a bunch of characters, seemingly so they can be dispatched in the second half of the movie. The production values and attempt at characterisation leaves a lot to be desired. It is redeemed slightly by some enjoyably ridiculous gore.
It's 80 minutes long. Which I took to be an act of mercy.
I hate to say “This is a movie that exists”, but Krampus Unleashed really is a film that is sort of just out there in the world.
Krampus is one of those pieces of folklore that people have always had an obsession with, one that seems to have gotten worse within the past 20 years. Millennials and big businesses grabbed ahold of this creature and put him on every bit of anti-Christmas merchandise they could find, which I think has caused the actual folklore of Krampus to be a little lost. This one is actually a lil better than I remember it being. The krampus creature looks cool and we get to see it gleefully rip and slash its way through many unfortunate victims. Some really well done n bloody practical effects work on display for such a low budget xmas flick. Not even your ugly xmas sweaters can save u from this blue faced Krampus demon. Nothing new that elevates this one into top of the line xmas horror but its still worth at least a watch.

Why are Krampus movies so bad? Why are there so many of them? Why do I want to see all of them?
This isn't good. There were a few moments that were okay but generally speaking, I have seen way better. The explanation of why Krampus came is one of the silliest things ever. A rock was dug up. That was the reason.

Christmas in Arizona isn’t that great.... Christmas in this movie doesn’t seem that great. There were a few things I did like about this film though.
The amount of greasy guts thrown around and a lot of the fake over the top practical gore was fun. Arms being torn off. Guta being chewed on. Rinse and repeat...
Our Krampus looks pretty good, sorta like a spooky goblin monkey thing. He’s cool and his teeth look yucky.

Nachdem ich mir die letzte Weihnacht mit drei Filmen der 8-teiligen Krampus-Reihe "versüßte", war es nun an der Zeit, die Sichtung fortzuführen.
Bei einer weihnachtlichen Familienzusammenkunft im sonnigen Arizona findet ein Junge einen schwarzen Stein mit Symbolen, was den Krampus auf den Zettel ruft, der fortan seine Blutgier stillen möchte.
Nach einem Rückblick in die Vergangenheit, der im Grunde überflüssig ist, da er gegen Ende noch einmal gezeigt wird, nimmt sich der Film recht viel Zeit, um seine diversen Haupt- und Nebenfiguren aufzubauen und lässt deren Wege dabei kreuzen. Viel Wert scheinen die Macher darauf gelegt zu haben, den frechen Teenager möglichst unsympathisch zu etablieren, was ihnen äußerst gut gelungen ist.

Um lixo. Primeiro, foi uma luta pra achar ela pra assistir, fui até em sites duvidosos e nada, até que eu achei uma versão bem ruinzinha no youtube que era sem legenda então, pouco eu entendi. Mas, falando do filme, é um filme que beira o amador, senão sendo até pior; é muito ruim em todos os aspectos possíveis. Com certeza, uma perca de tempo total.
It's ridiculous and hilarious, with just enough of the horror. Bonnie and Tommy make the movie work. Krampus could have been any creature really and made the movie work because he didn’t adhere to the rules of Krampus and just killed indiscriminately. Bonnie carried on the horror movie tradition of showing some boobage. I enjoyed it more than some of the other low budget Krampus movies.
I went into this movie with very low expectations, especially with the knowledge that this movie was directed by the same person who directed the godawful Krampus: The Reckoning. However, I was quite impressed with this one! Definitely better than a lot of the indie Krampus movies for sure! Krampus Unleashed offered some really good practical gore effects, and a decent Krampus design. The family dynamic was pretty fun, and at times weird (in a funny way of course).
