I loved all the new characters, every actors was great, even in smaller roles. Shawn Hatosy, straight out of The Pitt, was terrifying.

I have never read the book and didn’t watch the trailer, so I went in completely blind. I just knew it was a sci-fi movie with Ryan Gosling. I kind of anticipated a drama; I had no clue it would be so funny, and I most definitely didn't anticipate a bromance with a really cool alien!

I hadn't seen it in a while and it wasn't as great as I remembered. For instance, the whole boyfriend subplot was so boring and unnecessary and I forgot that at the end they get back together, that was so annoying.
But it remains one of Meryl Streep's greatest performances. And the film has so many quotable lines that I still use!
