1. If your life was a movie, what actor would play you? Watch a movie featuring them
2. Watch an unconventional romance (I’m a fan of zomb rom coms, but feel free to interpret this in any way you want) 
3. Try to find a director with the same first name as you, watch one of their movies. 
4. I’ve been doing these scavenger hunts for so long I feel like I’ve watched every movie that came out in my birth year, so I’m putting a twist on that prompt. Watch a movie from one of your parents’ birth years. 
5. Have a hypothetical movie night with your favorite fictional character, pick a movie you think they would love.
6. My toddler’s favorite animal right now is a mouse; watch a movie with a mouse (or a rat) 
7. Criticker always helps me make my scavenger hunt lists and has improved the quality of my movie watching experience immensely. For this prompt, pick a movie from this list of criticker users’ favorite movies
8. If you know your meyers briggs type, watch a movie from the list for your type on this website If you don’t know your type, feel free to choose one that appeals to you from any of the lists. (EDIT: I’m told this website actually does not have a list for every type like I thought it did, my bad. If this applies to you, feel free to turn to google or check out some letterboxd users’ meyers briggs themed lists. I am very sorry)
9. I can pretty much count the number of Indian movies I’ve seen on one hand, but I found  this fascinating “beyond bollywood” list that’s perfect for expanding your horizons in that particular geographic direction. Watch a movie from the list. 
10. In Edward Scissorhands the titular character only says 169 words in the entire movie. Watch a movie with an important character who is almost or entirely silent (NOT a silent film but characters who are physically unable to speak are ok) 
11. Watch a movie featuring swordplay and gunplay
12. This prompt is dedicated to Danny Devito, because he’s too good for this world. Watch something he has acted in, or worked on or produced. 
13. Watch a movie that takes place mostly in space or on another planet 
14. Watch a movie featuring a framing device
15. Watch an animated movie that’s not really intended for kids
16. We’ve been listening to Quick Question with Soren and Daniel and it made us very nostalgic for Cracked After Hours. Watch a movie that was discussed on or referenced in an episode of Cracked After Hours. (My wonderful husband took it upon himself to make a list of movies that come up on After Hours. It is not exhaustive, but it is a damn good start and we should all be honored to share the planet with him) 
17. Watch a movie about an unlikely friendship 
18. Watch a movie with an X or a Z in the title 
19. Watch a cyberpunk movie 
20. Watch a movie about a famous person who wasn’t a musician 
21. Watch a movie with a wedding in it 
22. Watch a movie in which a character is able to fly using magic, sorcery, super powers, etc. instead of a mechanical contraption of some kind

24. 2020 was the year I finally finished my novel. Watch a movie with a character who is a writer. 
25. Merry Christmas! For me scavenger hunts are usually all about getting out of my comfort zone, but since it is Christmas, just watch something you have a personal connection to, something beloved, cherished, treasured, nostalgic, something that brings you joy. 
26. Watch a movie that’s based on a graphic novel or a manga 
27. Watch a movie with a moon or stars on the poster 
28. Laika makes beautiful movies, watch one of the feature length films the studio has made. Or, if you’ve seen them all, watch something else that’s stop motion animated. 
29. My husband and I just bought a house, such a huge and surreal milestone, so one thing I’m obsessed with right now is finding a way to make the new house feel like home, in other words trying to make it look as haunted as possible. Watch a movie about a haunted house. 
30. Watch a movie written or directed by a comedian 
31. Watch a movie with fireworks in it (there are tons of them, but here’s a nifty list if you’re feeling lazy, no judgment
