52 First Times Challenge
Week 16 - any one of the highest grossing films from the 1950s
A fantastic war film that asks hard questions and resists easy answers. It's one of those films that's so good the film doesn't feel bogged down even with it's 2 hour and 40 minute run time. The cast is great, especially Alec Guinness. He stole every scene he was in. Director David Lean did an incredible job.
