A soft, small-scale slice-of-life film from Lebanese director duo Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige. Very quiet, apart from the music at the nightclub. We follow twenty-something Malek around Beirut for a single day as he navigates his relationships with his mother and his ex-girlfriend, his father's disappearance 15 years earlier, and his penchant for falling asleep in increasingly inconvenient places (sleep disorder).

Nearly fell over when a character removed her contact lenses and we immediately got a couple of shots of the city lights from her POV (extremely blurry bokeh).

Quite enjoyed this overall, but it might be too slow for some.
