HonestHermit’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not as good as the original. It mostly follows the same plot, but went too over the top with the additions, taking away it’s sense of “reality.” It also took away some of the character development and interactions between the occupants of this apartment building which flattens the story a bit. Also, why is it so dark in the common areas of this building? This is another change that takes away from the scariness inside the apartments, back rooms, and final scene. When everything is the same level of too dark it just becomes annoying after a while. Chaos and confusion does not equal scary to me. It is in fact, one of the aspects of found footage that I don’t really like. The more amorphous nature of the outbreak is also better in the original, making the payoff more interesting. All in all, skip this one and watch [REC] instead.
