Last time I did this, I got a whopping 2 films in 2020. I plan to do much better this time.
Maybe we'll get all 20, maybe not. But we're gonna try. We're gonna do a LOT better in 2021.
Original list: letterboxd.com/cinemonster/list/hooptober-ocho-the-only-way-to-stop-a-bad/
Anyway, the rules are:
8 decades
6 countries
2 films from the year you were born (too bad I've already seen The Exorcist and Wicker Man)
4 films from 1981 (Again, I've seen several well known ones: My Bloody Valentine, Student Bodies, Friday the 13th Part 2)
2 films featuring a haunted house
1 film set in the woods
The worst Part 2 film you can pick from the horror selection on the original list

The worst Part 2 film you can pick from the horror selection on the original list
2 films dealing with folk horror
1 film focusing on Kong or Kaiju (and no, the recent Kong vs Godzilla film will NOT count)
2 Hammer Films
3 Films with a person of color as star/director (Not Asian films)
3 Asian horror films
And 1 Tobe Hooper film
And YES, films can fit in MORE than one category
To get the last decade, I added Death Machine to the list. It is possible that upon further reflection, I may change a title here/there due to availability. Can't do the bonus films because I've already seen JD's Revenge (and I do have some thoughts for those who decide to tackle it).
Not only will I do my reviews here, but I plan on doing reviews on my YouTube channel (Tickets Please) and keeping them on the HauntedWeen playlist. The title refers to an old Rotten Tomatoes thread I kept for the Halloween season as well as a 1991 film made in the Western Kentucky area.
Looking forward to tackling these ones starting September 15!
Breakdown
Birth Year Horror: And Now the Screaming Starts, The Werewolf of Washington OR Theatre of Blood (the former seems more available, but the latter may well be the better one)

Haunted House Films: And Now the Screaming Starts! and The Lodge
Woods Setting: Don't Go in the Woods
Worst Part 2 Film: Birdemic 2: The Resurrection
Folk Horror: Haxan, Midsommar
Kong/Kaiju: King Kong
Hammer Time: The Lodge, The Kiss of the Vampire

Asian Horror: Boomika, #Alive, Hantu Kak Limah
Tobe Hooper film: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
8 Decades: 1920s, 1930s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2010s, 2020s
6 Countries: UK (And Now the Screaming Starts), US (Get Out), Sweden (Haxan), India (Boomika), South Korea (#Alive), Malaysia (Hantu Kak Limah)
Included Death Machine so I can have that 8th Decade (1990s)
There may be some updates between now and the 15th!
