This year we said goodbye to Bill Withers, Clarence Williams III, Hammerin Hank, Charles Grodin, Cicely Tyson, Captain Stubing, Spazzy, Olympia, George Seagal, Eddie, Christopher Plummer, Hal Holbrook, Bob Gibson, Sylvain Sylvain, Marion Ramsey, Sheena Queen of the Jungle (or Midge, for some), Shock G, Sir Sean, Gregory Sierra, Chuck Yeager, Ed Asner, Mary Ann, and 2 OG's: The Ruff Ryder & RBG.

I'd like to mention Johnny Nash separately. He was a straight shooting, big hearted, god fearing, devoted family man who celebrated inclusion, harmony, his race and his region like no one I've ever known. His family is a reflection of and a tribute to him. I was honored to call him 'friend', and I will miss him terribly. All my love to Carlie, lil' Johnny and Monica.

Welcome back. So much has changed this year, and so much hasn't. There is hope in it for some and for others it is a sequel to '20 that never should have been made.

So this is part 8. I've had plans the last few years to do something different with one of these but life has not been an agreeable partner. As I write this, it is possible that could change before I post this. We'll see.

I will begin as I did the last seven(!) years: I would like to do 31 horror films in October, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment so I will start my 31 on September 15th.

I WILL REVIEW THEM ALL (I really mean that). Those of you not new to the LB block know that horror is near and dear to my heart.
