Legacy of Horror ‘26

I adore a near-future sci-fi thriller/horror so Possessor was an experience I really vibed with! I was immediately hooked by the concept and honestly pretty thrilled with the execution. I'm obsessed with the trippy, abstract portrayal of the sequences which depicted the battle for control over Colin's mind.
Throughout the film, the viewer is privy to the immense psychological burden Tasya's work has on her as her 'final assignment' gradually erodes her remaining humanity. By the end, her only remaining connections that tethered her to a sense of humanity, her partner and son, have been lost, resulting in her becoming the unconscionable killer Girder has been pushing for.
As a whole, this slapped. I do wish there were stronger emotional threads so that I could better connect to/invest in the characters, but the visuals were superb and the effects were fabulous. Will definitely revisit this one!
