Think of this as the undercard version of Letterboxd's Top 250 Science Fiction Films list. The goal here was to include movies that would* make that list, except they have under 1,000 ratings. If you want more obscure sci-fi, or if you want to get in on the ground floor before a movie graduates to the official list, here's a starting point.
I only included films with the science fiction genre tag on Letterboxd. I also tried to follow the same rules as the official list. So: "No shorts, no TV series or TV movies, no YouTube videos, no filmed stage productions, no reissues / re-edits, no commentary track versions, no compilations of TV show episodes, no behind-the-scenes documentaries, nor anything else that isn't really a full film. All entries must be at least 40 minutes in length."
It's possible I erroneously excluded something from this list which looked like it violated one of those rules (also possible I erroneously included some), so corrections are appreciated if I made a mistake. Some of these are so obscure it's hard to find any good info on them, but I made an effort for each film.
*: most of the films on this list have a higher weighted average than Looper, currently the 250th film on the official list, so they would be eligible except for their ratings/likes. There were not a full 100, though, and I wanted to go to a round number, so the averages for the last few fall just under the threshold.
