march around the world 2026 | 30/30 | 🇵🇭 Philippines

My last stop on my first March Around the World challenge ended up being one of the highlights of the whole journey. Moral is the story of four young women, best friends from university. We jump forward through time, seeing bits and pieces of their lives over the course of about three years. While the film is bookended by scenes of Joey, Maritess, Sylvia, and Kathy coming together in celebration, there are actually very few scenes in between that have all four women. Instead, much of the film zooms in and gives each of them a fully realized character arc - they all have their own story to tell, with their own triumphs and tragedies, as they each push back in different ways against all the things that society expects of and inflicts on women. I liked a lot of the performances in this film, and Lorna Tolentino's as Joey was definitely my favourite. At nearly 2 hours and 20 minutes, this certainly isn't a short film, but I think it used its time well, and the ending was so wonderfully cathartic.
