This not-quite-romcom focuses on race relations in Malaysia, centering on the budding relationship between the ascerbic Malay student Orked (Sharifah Amani) and the soft-spoken Chinese poet (and pirated DVD seller) Ah Loong/Jason (Choo Seong Ng). The two of them bond over Hong Kong films and fast food, but worry about how their friends and family will react. Some parts were a bit awkward or stilted, but there was a lot of heart here, and Orked's family was lovely (the hair brush scene was a highlight!). Looking forward to watching the other two films in this trilogy.
