This film from director Jenna Cato Bass follows Terri (Chi Mhende) and Eugene (Louw Venter) in two largely separate storylines as they try to find an answer to the age-old question immortalized by Haddaway. Terri struggles with trying to find career ideas that fit her while navigating a rocky patch in her relationship with her boyfriend Sandile (Andile Nebulane). Eugene, on the other hand, can't get over his ex, and tracks her down on the deep web (?) while hanging out with her little brother Mo (Dayaan Salie). Overall, this was a mishmash of styles that didn't really work for me, especially with a number of plot threads that didn't seem to have a purpose (and those jarring CGI transitions). I liked Chi Mhende as Terri, as well as the flashbacks of Terri's memories that were presented like home videos, but it unfortunately wasn't enough for me.
