My second watch of Věra Chytilová's works, and Wolf's Hole is another strange, allegorical film, though less surreal than Daisies. Eleven teenagers (but there should only be ten) go on a ski trip with three eerie, menacing instructors. The road to the cabin is blocked, so a freight lift is the only way in - and out. It took some time before I was fully invested in the narrative, but by the time the stakes were made clear I was thoroughly enjoying this. I liked the sense of tension throughout, and I actually loved the decision to make most of the kids complete assholes to each other - I think that helped to emphasize the film's message. Really liked this one.
