A documentary directed by Maite Alberdi, The Mole Agent sends 83-year old Sergio undercover in a nursing home to investigate the possibility of elder abuse occurring behind closed doors. While the framing is that of a comedic unconventional-spy-story, it really ended up being more of a look into loneliness and the realities of aging - especially of those elderly folk who have been pushed aside by their families (if they even have one). There were plenty of touching moments, and our super-spy Sergio was fantastic, but I was left wondering if perhaps some of the initial premise was a set-up. Overall, worth a watch!
