Halloween 2022: The Dark Gift

For so many reasons, this is the year of the vampire. It’s 100th anniversary of Nosferatu, the 90th of Vampyr, the 150th of the Carmilla novella, and the 125th of the Dracula novel. But most importantly, our Queen of the Damned is no longer with us. Anne Rice gave me the Dark Gift of gay, goth vampires and I want to honor that. In particular, I want to watch as many Carmilla-inspired films as possible.

As in the past few years, I will be trying to balance my personal thematic interest with Cinemonster's Hoop-Tober challenge and the Reddit October Horror Movie Challenge. Below is my aspirational list, which I will narrow throughout the coming months.
