Starring - Female 4 Front: The Ultimate Kick Ass Warrior Michelle Yeoh
Given the film's dismal reputation, I was braced for the worst. But ultimately it was just a poor knockoff of Ex Machina, with little to no tension and one of the worst crimes in cinematic history, like, how dare they ugly the living crap out of Anya like that?
But, in terms of performances, Michelle Yeoh is scarcely a character in the picture and is one of this collection of characters in the film who are crucial to the tale but end up being wasted, another role that anyone could have played. Both Anya and Mara do their best with the roles they're given, and both succeed in…

Turns out Brandon Cronenberg isn't the only apple that didn't fall too far from the tree. Luke Scott's directorial debut has more than a trace of Blade Runner in its DNA, though unlike Brandon C's recent horror sci-fi phenomenon Poessessor, Morgan is a less autonomous effort. Ridley Scott produced this, and judging by the finished product, probably exercised a degree of creative control as well.
Like Deckard before her, Lee Weathers is essentially a replicant hunter. Don't be fooled by the Risk Management Consultant schtick; she's a thoroughbred assassin, as Dr. Grieff is quick to point out. Tasked with giving the corporation's asset 'Morgan' a psych evaluation to determine the viability of the project following a violent incident involving Dr.…
Anya Taylor-Joy straight up karate kicks Kate Mara across a forest with the force of a wrecking ball and I loved it so much
This was incredibly predictable, but still quite entertaining.
After a violent incident, a risk analyst goes to a secluded compound to determine whether a genetically engineered human is a viable business prospect worth continuing. It’s a very slick and pretty looking movie that kept my attention. It isn’t nearly as clever as some similar movies such as Ex Machina and you’ll most likely figure out what’s going to happen before it does, but as a basic sci-fi popcorn thriller, I thought it was fun in spite of its issues.
If nothing else, this is worth a watch for Kate Mara and Anya Taylor-Joy. They are both excellent in everything I’ve ever seen them in and this is no exception. There’s a short…
100-word review: Morgan enters the same debate about what we ought to consider 'human', and about the grey area between artificial and 'real' intelligence, as an abundance of preceding sci-fis have, and right after covering much of the same ground as those, but before offering a new take or fresh perspective of its own, the film turns into an action-horror flick with no more going for it than a semi-neat twist ending. Watched this mostly for Anya Taylor-Joy, who also didn't really wow me for a change. Weird to think she's 20 in this — make-up and clothing right?
