Cinemonster has done it again. He has laid down the rules for this year's Hooptober, a festival of eerie delights for which he establishes the rules each year. I believe this is my seventh year doing this challenge (I missed out on the first year, but made sure to jump aboard the year after...and I enjoyed it so much that I've done it every year and now look forward to it the whole year long).
Here are the rules, and the movies I have chosen to fulfill them.
QUICK EASY RULES:
6 countries (Italy: The Beyond, Bay of Blood, France: Raw, Japan: Onibaba, Britain: The Abominable Snowman, Spain: The Devil's Backbone, China/Britain: Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires)
8 decades…

QUICK EASY RULES:
6 countries (Italy: The Beyond, Bay of Blood, France: Raw, Japan: Onibaba, Britain: The Abominable Snowman, Spain: The Devil's Backbone, China/Britain: Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires)
8 decades (Got it covered)
2 folk horror (The Blair Witch Project and Onibaba)
4 films from 1981 (The Howling, The Burning, Possession, The Beyond)
2 films from your birth year (1978: The Manitou, The Legacy)
2 haunted house films (Burnt Offerings, The Innocents)
The worst Part 2 that you haven't seen and can access. (I realize that this will take a little work) "The Fly 2"
1 film set in the woods: The Blair Witch Project
1 Kaiju or Kong film (not the new K v. G): Godzilla Raids Again
2 Hammer films: "The Abominable Snowman" and "The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires"
3 films with a person of color as director or lead. (excluding Asian): "Blade 2", "The Devil's Backbone" and "The Cell" (Jennifer Lopez is the lead so I think it counts)
3 Asian horror films. ("Ringu", "Onibaba" and "Godzilla Raids Again")
And 1 Tobe Hooper Films (There must ALWAYS be a Hooper film) "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
***FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: WATCH JD'd Revenge, The Skull and The Scooby Doo Project
-review them all.(eek)
As always, these titles are subject to change depending on my mood/availability, but I always make sure to fulfill the criteria.
