Films about down-on-their-luck protagonists who spend the duration of the story wandering around, trying to figure out what to do with themselves are frustrating stories for me by nature. There are times they pull themselves out of it through virtue of creative storytelling or larger metaphorical elements that take over. In the case of this film, the film never quite gets to that place that gets me to really care about the plight of our protagonist, nor do I find it quite at the creative or metaphorical level I need it to be at in order to have really connected with it.
