We all know Cronenberg’s just a little freak, putting every twisted desire out here on film. His therapist is made for life, assuming he goes. Based on his work, I’d hazard not.
This is one of his more clinical, intentionally so as it reflects the nature of the twins, but as the collapse occurs, the unfamiliar vulnerability shines through, ultimately fucking everything up. Irons killed it in those roles.
Also one of his less graphic, although he couldn’t resist a teeny bit of body morph and those perverted surgical tools. I’m here for his warped little motifs. Honestly surprised the story took a drug addict route over a dark, kinky, threesome route (coward).
Red robes is insane. Is that a style choice or are there surgeons out there rocking that fit?
